Asia's Headstart on Digital Currencies

Facebook's Libra may have grabbed the headlines, but the true leaders in Central Bank issued digital currencies are in Asia. China looks like the 800 lb gorilla in the arena, but they are not alone. Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and Cambodia have all begun to develop and experiment with wholesale and retail CBDCs.
